What is Functional Medicine?

Functional medicine is a systems-based, root-cause approach to health. Rather than treating isolated symptoms, we evaluate how your body systems interact - including metabolism, hormones, gut health, immune function, nervous system regulation, and inflammation.

Our goal is to understand why symptoms are occurring and create a plan that restores regulation, resilience, and long-term stability.

What Makes This Different From Conventional Care?

Functional medicine focuses on:

  • Patterns over time, not just snapshots

  • Root causes, not symptom suppression

  • Personalized care, not one-size-fits-all protocols

  • Collaboration, education, and long-term strategy

This approach require more analysis, preparation, and follow-through than a traditional office visit.

What to Expect: The Process

  1. Comprehensive intake - You’ll complete an in-depth health intake covering:

    • Medical history & timeline

    • Current symptoms

    • Lifestyle, stress, sleep, and nutrition

    • Prior labs, diagnoses, and treatments

  2. Pre-Visit Clinical Review - Before your appointment, your case is reviewed in detail. This includes:

    • Pattern recognition

    • Systems analysis

    • Lab review (if available)

    • Initial care-plan strategy

Much of the clinical work begins before you arrive.

  3. Your Visit (60 minutes for initial visits) During your visit we will:

    • Review key findings and patterns

    • Connect symptoms to underlying systems

    • Discuss priorities and next steps

    • Create a personalized plan

  4. Testing & Personalized Recommendations - When appropriate, we may recommend:

    • Functional or specialty labs

    • Nutrition and lifestyle strategies

    • Targeted supplements

    • Nervous system regulation tools

    • Chiropractic or physical support (if applicable)

Labs and supplements are separate from visit fees.

  5. Ongoing Care & Support _ Functional medicine works best as a process, not a one-time visit. Follow-ups or care packages allow us to:

    • Track progress

    • Adjust your plan

    • Support sustainable changes

Why Visits Are Paid at Booking

Functional medicine care includes:

  • Pre-appointment analysis

  • Clinical preparation

  • Individualized planning

To honor the time, expertise, and preparation involved, functional medicine visits are paid in full at the time of scheduling..

Is Functional Medicine Right for You?

This approach is ideal if you:

  • Feel unheard or stuck

  • Have chronic or recurring symptoms

  • Want answers, not quick fixes

  • Are ready to be an active participant in your health
